Old Fashioned

Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz bourbon or rye whiskey
- 1 sugar cube
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Splash of water.
- Orange cliché
- Cocktail cherry
Preparation
Place sugar cube in glass, saturate with bitters, add a splash of plain water. Muddle until sugar dissolves. Fill the glass with ice then pour whiskey overtop. Garnish with orange slice and a cocktail cherry.

Straight off the International Bartenders Association world class cocktail list, a whiskey sour is a citrus cocktail containing Whiskey, lemon juice, and sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz bourbon whiskey
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz simple syrup or maple syrup
Preparation
Combine ingredients into a shaker with ice. Add ice to a glass and pour over. Best served on the rocks.
Mint julep
Traditionally the Mint Julep is the cocktail of choice for the Kentucky derby, yearly during the weekend of the Kentucky derby over 100,000 Mint Juleps are served in Kentucky.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar
- 2 oz bourbon whiskey
- 2 teaspoons of water
- 4 mint leaves
- 1 mint sprig
Preparation
In a highball glass muddle together mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water. Add ice and bourbon whiskey to the glass. Stir until the glass is well chilled. Garnish with mint Sprig.
classic irish coffee
Most would associate Irish coffee with a coffee liqueur like baileys, but a traditional Irishman uses Irish whiskey. This is not only an acceptable way to enjoy a cup of coffee but is expected on cold holiday mornings.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Strong coffee
- 1 teaspoon Brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 ½ oz Irish whiskey
- Whipped cream
Preparation
Fill your mug with coffee, stir in both sugars, add whiskey then top with whipped cream.
