tequila Recipes
Tequila is a distilled spirit made from the blue Agave or Agave Azul, and produced only in five areas of Mexico. It can be drunk on its own or in a cocktail.
Classic Margarita
One of the best and most famous tequila cocktails is the classic Margarita.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz of tequila
- 1 oz triple sec
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- Course salt for an optional rim
- 1 lime wedge
Preparation
Wipe the rim of a cocktail glass or margarita glass with lime wedge then roll in coarse salt. Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice to a shaker with ice. Shake well then pour into rimmed glass. Serve with or without ice then top with lime wedge.
ranch water
An absolutely refreshing cocktail and with the name Ranch you know it will be good.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz of silver tequila
- ½ oz of lime juice ( or other citrus juice of choice)
- 4 oz of chilled seltzer water or mineral water. (topo chico is a popular choice)
- Lime wedge for garnish
Preparation
In a highball glass add ice then pour in tequila and lime or citrus juice. Stir well then top will chilled mineral water. Garnish with lime wedge and enjoy!
tequila sunrise
This beautiful and easy tequila cocktail is a sweet treat and gorgeous to serve at any summer get together.
Ingredients
- 2 oz tequila
- 4 oz orange juice
- ½ oz grenadine
- Orange slice and maraschino cherry for garnish.
Preparation
In a highball glass with ice pour in tequila and orange juice. Stir well. Slowly pour in the grenadine at the side of the glass. The grenadine will sink to the bottom and slowly rise to make the beautiful sunrise effect. Garnish with orange slice and cherry then enjoy!
the tequini
A twist on a classic martini and much drier than most tequila cocktails. A Tequini is simply a martini with tequila.
Ingredients
- 2 ½ oz of good Blanco tequila
- ½ oz vermouth
- 1 dash of aromatic bitters
- Olive or twist of lemon for garnish
Preparation
Pour tequila, vermouth, and bitters into a cocktail shaker with ice. Stir or shake well, (it’s on preference). Strain into a chilled martini glass, garnish with olive or lemon twist and enjoy.
