cordial Recipes

Cordials are made by mixing or redistilling neutral spirits, brandy, rum or other spirits with natural ingredients such as fruit, herbs and cream.

Apple Smash

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Elderflower Cordial 
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 tablespoon applesauce
  • 6-8 mint leaves

Preparation

Add cordial, lemon juice, gin, and applesauce to a tall glass with ice. Stir well. Top with more ice and garnish with mint leaves. 

    blueberry mint fizz

    Ingredients

    • 2 oz cordial (preferably blueberry) 
    • 1 oz gin
    • 0.5 oz creme de menthe
    • 0.25 oz lemon juice
    • Soda water
    • Mint sprig

    Preparation

    Combine Cordial, gin, creme de menthe, and lemon juice in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Strain into a Collins glass with ice and top with soda water. Garnish with a sprig of mint. 

      Rhubarb Julep

      This beautiful bourbon and cordial julep has a beautiful presentation to it. Make sure to follow the preparation steps to see the layers in the finished product. 

      Ingredients

      • 2oz Bourbon
      • 1 oz Rhubarb Cordial 
      • 2 Mint leaves
      • 1 Rhubarb Strand
      • Club soda

      Preparation

      In a glass add Cordial, fill with ice. Tilt the glass slightly and slowly pour in some club soda. With a spoon, layer the bourbon on the top of the club soda. Garnish with mint and rhubarb. Serve with a straw to mix after the beautiful drink has been viewed. 

        gimlet cocktail

        Also known as a gin sour. This cocktail is a staple and pairs botanical gin with a tart lime cordial. 

        Ingredients

        • 2 ½ oz gin
        • 1 oz lime cordial 
        • Lime wedge

        Preparation

        Pour gin and cordial into a mixing glass with ice. Stir well. Strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with lime wedge and enjoy.
