rum Recipes

Rum is arguably one of the earliest known spirits due to its simple production process. Rum is made from sugarcane molasses or sugarcane juice. The sugarcane is fermented and then distilled.

Classic daiquiri

A classic daiquiri is typically made with only three ingredients and frozen. 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz rum 
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup 
  • 1 lime wedge for garnish

Preparation

In a shaker with ice add rum, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake well. Strain and pour into a cocktail glass and top with a lime wedge. 

Pina Colada

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups frozen pineapple
  • 1 ½ cups ice
  • 5 oz aged rum
  • 2 oz cream of coconut
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz lime juice. 
  • Cherry for garnish

Preparation

In a blender blend ice and frozen pineapple until chunky. Then add rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, and lime juice to the blender. Blend until smooth. Serve with a cherry on top and enjoy!

mai tai

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz pineapple juice
  • 1 ½ oz light rum
  • ¾ oz cointreau or triple sec
  • ¾ oz lime juice
  • ½ oz orgeat
  • ½ oz dark rum
  • Pineapple wedge

Preparation

  • In a shaker with ice mix pineapple juice, light rum, cointreau (or triple sec), lime juice, and orgeat. Shake well and strain over a glass with ice. Top with dark rum and garnish with a pineapple wedge. 

 

mojito

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz white rum recipe
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 6 mint leaves
  • Soda water

Preparation

Mint sprigs muddled with sugar and lime juice. Rum added and topped with soda water. Garnished with a sprig of mint leaves. Served with a straw.
